a film score that doesn't "hide" in all of the scenes. it has to stand out. this means pretty much nothing by hans zimmer and pretty much anything by John Williams. Danny Elfman also does good work. example:

Jerry Goldsmith is fucking amazing as well. James Horner has done some good stuff, Michael Kamen is awesome, Randy Edelman has done good work, Alan Sylvestri, etc. etc.

The only stuff by Zimmer that I can even recall are the recycled sequence he first (?) did in The Rock and the BRRRRMMMM from Inception.
