One of the worst written female protagionists ever. Disney should really be ashamed of itself. Teaching young girls that they can literally do anything with no hard work or adversity is an awful life lesson.

I say she was more accepting that the Force was real but otherwise I totally agree with the Mary Sue BS that she has.
I think Abrams might go with a Trio of Jedi for the new Trilogy, Rey's excellent with the Force, Finn's good with a lightsaber, and Poe is the flyer.

Even the most proficient character in a drama can never become tragic, unless he also possesses genius.
Tragedy explores the eccentric genius, while Comedy only explores silly conformists. TFA is a comedic flick that wants to be a tragedy as well. In that it fails.
The natural thing to do would be to use Rey and Finn in order to explore Anakin Skywalker and his family as tragic characters.
Rey and Finn should remain supporting acts though... like C3PO and R2, who only manage to encircle and vaguely appropriate genius.

I understand that it's standard for Star Wars franchise to mix well-known actors with lesser-known actors as leads, but they failed pretty bad with this one. I don't blame her, I blame whoever thought it was acceptable for her to have the accent of an American attempting an English accent, very poorly.
