honestly, the only good adaptation for dune was the miniseries on sci-fi back in the early 2000s
If you look at it as an adaptation of the book, it's pretty bad. Makes some really dumb changes for no good reason.
Just on its own, as a whole, pretty bad.
There's some good elements in there, though. The set design and costumes are all fantastic. Some of the performances are good (others... not so much).
It's really weird, pretty much exactly what you should expect when you give David Lynch a budget and tell him to make a sci-fi blockbuster.
