What makes it special is the style of it. The neon lights, the way it's shot, the neo noir characters. Some kind of throwback to 80s thriller but more grim.

When i rewatched Drive, I didn't notice Oscar Isaac was that good compare to Gosling.
Also when Gosling freaks out at the end to Bryan Cranston was that his true nature all along then why the hell is he a silent autist all the time?

i just saw it for the first time a few days ago, i'd give it a 7/10, which would put it at the bottom of refn films ive seen (valhalla, bronson, only god forgives). it's just reached semi-meme status because goslings character (some would say gosling himself) is an autist and 4chan is obsessed with autism (wonder why?).
It's an acessible film that appeals to /tv/ autists desperately trying to attach themselves to a clique.
