Film grain has a charm to it, also lower-definition formats like Super 8 and 16mm, but the "charm" of low-fi video image to me sounds like the charm of scratched and faded film.

I collect old VHS tapes. It's a cheap hobby, I can usually pick up stuff for a quarter a tape. The hunting is the fun part and occasionally finding something weird or rare. I don't get people who shell out $25-$50 for fancy new limited edition tapes, but if that's what they want to spend their money on, why should I care?

I feel when I listen to it digitally, I find it very easy to get distracted. Not so when listening to my CD's, cassette's or vinyls.

With music, at least you can still download it and save it to your computer. Never used a streaming service for my main music listening.

I just like that a lot of used CDs are fucking dirt cheap right now (excluding various underground releases and imports obviously). I recently picked up most of the Dead Can Dance and Cocteau Twins discographies for under $100. It'd probably be over five times that for vinyl even if it is a nicer format.
