It was a process for me, it started after several cases of finding "Certified Fresh" movies terribly mediocre. I then started watching movies I had initially avoided based on rotten scores, only to end up really enjoying some of them. Now I don't really pay attention to RT, I watch movies if the premise seems interesting and ignore the rest.

I don't really know if RT sold out, or if there's some weird "cultural movement" going on with movie critics, but every time I read a "professional" review I just end scratching my head. Critics todayor maybe always have beenall seem to be about agendas and abusing their thesaurus.
I only really like Armond's reviews because they seem to be an extreme parody of this trend.

True, but that's ultimately what most people are looking for (especially on an aggregate site). Moviegoers go to sites like RT looking for reviews, but most of these critics do weird review-critique hybrids too busy trying to showcase their agendas, wit, hang-ups, writing prowess, etc. to actually focus on discussing the movie's virtues and failings.
The second big problem is that, as everything else on the internet, movie reviewers/critics have succumbed to click-baiting. So everything is absolutely great or irredeemably terrible.
I don't know why anyone expected this to be good. I'll probably watch itfor mommy.
