The Borg are the most evil aliens in the galaxy who try to convert people into cyborgs to become a hivemind. They tried converting the captain in the original series but failed. The captain has ptsd over it. Thats all you need to know to enjoy the movie, and you could easily figure it out watching the movie too because I never watched the tv show

Our only hope is that the teaser for Plinkett's The Force Awakens was actually a red herring, and that they're actually intending to release Plinkett's Into Darkness before Lin's Beyond.
First Contact is tied with 4 and 6 for best Trek movie. Apart from Picard being too vengeful and the Queen kind of messing things up, it's perfect. Cochrane's story is the absolute embodiment of Star Trek and the first contact scene is the absolute climax of the franchise. I love it, 9/10.

He wasn't vengeful in the episode with Hugh. Being vengeful is realistic from our perspective, but Picard's basically just supposed to be Roddenberry's ideal person. He's calm and rational. It was out of character.

Sisko should have been on the Defiant in First Contact.
Picard could have been the peaceful TV series philosopher, and Sisko could have been the vengeful revenger.

Plus Plinkett and Mike are not the same. Plinkett often tears holes in movies he claims to like. I think this will be similar to Titanic or Star Trek 09. Some good, some bad, and a wrap up to put the movies in perspective.
