Do people not like this movie? I don't remember who I heard criticizing it, but I remember it having haters around.
I thought it was great. It's about one of those childhood fantasies everyone of us had, turned into a compelling action/thriller/comedy.
It's basically (low key) science fiction done right.
I liked it because the main character, instead of following a set path, plays around and tries to break the mechanics around him.
Also the """action""" scenes are very unique, like him trying to get to a girl and the entire world literally trying to stop him, him trying to get somewhere and people half-politely trying to stop him etc.
Also it's pretty much the only "conspiracy" movie that manages to tell its story well, by establishing early how it's a confined, controversial, small scope and a fantastic, unreal premise, rather than a scary big unbelievable world-wide mystery that "might actually exist in real life duuude!".

If we're going full dark mode and Truman becomes a cracked out lunatic who blew through all his money, it's not unlikely Sylvia's lawyers would tell her "look, you ain't gonna get shit out of him. Just take the house, the kids, whatever you can and call it a day".This is literally what happened during my parents divorce.
