Conceivably, if he had the necessary preparations, but even a plan on paper can still go wrong, some example from the comics show things like Iron Man successfully knocking out the Hulk with a Hulkbuster armor but it overtaxed the system and trapped tony in it because the sheer force necessary to do it made the armor fuse.
And in a more recent comic tony broke out a Thorbuster armor, powered by an asgardian gem that Thor gave him to study to better humanity and that STILL didn't stop him from getting curbstomped.
In the end, it's up to who is writing and how interesting the concept is.
