Everyone is expecting Steve to kick the bucket because of how the original source material ends and how meticulously they've set him up to potentially be replaced.
I think that they're going to surprise everyone and do something totally unexpected and kill offIron Man instead of Cap at the end of Civil War.
How fucking shocking would that be?Tony is the posterboy of the Marvel Universe and modern superhero films in general. Literally no one would see it coming, as it's always been assumed that his role as their main moneymaker would be safe and secure. He's the leader and bankroller of the Avengers, and they would be totally lost without him keeping them together. It would be such a great setup for them to have to come together again for the next movie. That's what makes that twist so great, it works on so many levels.
We're talking crazy Box Office numbers on controversy alone. EVERYONE loves Iron Man, and that shit would probably make national news like the first time Superman died in the comics or Godzilla was killed off over in Japan. People will come out in droves to see their favorite hero die a tragic death.
It makes sense when you really think about it too. Downy is the most expensive asset in the MCU, and he has zero interest in doing another solo Iron Man film again anyway. They only have him for one more movie after Civil War, so they might as well go out with a fucking bang until his inevitable resurrection in Infinity War Part 2 which will be mindblowing epic to the popcorn munching masses out there and make them into puddy in Marvel's hands.

As far as contractual stuff goes, they're all fair game when it comes to predicting who, if anyone, will get killed off.
I still think Tony has a higher chance of kicking the bucking than Steve though. People have been assuming that Cap was going to get offed since as early as AoU. It wouldn't be surprising in the slightest, Everyone expects it and Marvel knows that.
I think they're totally going to fuck with the audience expectations again in this, it wouldn't be the first time.

I just rewatched First Avenger and Winter Soldier, and they really foreshadowed his death. Hell in both movies he almost died.
In Winter Soldier especially the way Bucky would take Cap's shield and use it, and the way the scenes were shot (pic related) foreshadow what is to come.
