I remember being a young guy and seeing a dvd for the first time.
Shit bewildered me.

How could they put a movie where they put music?
Shit's magic.

One time, me and my family drove 1000 miles down to Florida for a vacation when I was like three. We have a television and a VCR hooked up on the wall of our rented RV. I remember thinking how fucking cool it was to be able to watch movies on the road.
Now kids are being handed Netflix at age two and they don't appreciate shit.

It's partially true, CDs and DVDs are still in production and will be for many years because their production is super cheap. There's still plenty of people who buy physical format for various reasons.
>>
>>67816158

They're just a bit crap compared to proper records though in terms of the physical product.

Why the fuck are we going backward in terms of quality by the way?
People should be buying blurays instead of streaming.

This.
I buy Blu Rays of my absolute favorite movies.
Same thing goes for vinyl, only my favorite albums.

I just like being able to actually own something. Sometimes digital media feels out of your control, regardless of where it's stored.

>>67816309
>4-inch black and white screen
Speaking of screens that hurt to look at, I had an old gameboy advance. Those motherfuckers didn't have backlights, so you had to buy a clip-on attachment to shine light onto the display.
Screen glare was a way of life.

Blu Rays are infinitely better, yes.
But it's much easier to fire up your smart tv or your phone and pull up Netflix to see if they have it.

>>
>>67816412
Normalfags care more about convenience than they do about quality.

You also don't have to buy a dedicated box to watch Netflix.
>>

I never really "got" her. Her body wasnt that even that good, she just did a lot of material.
>>
>>67816520
More likely they'll just stop bothering with physical releases altogether.

Also I fucking hate the term 'physical release'.
>>
>>67816520
It probably won't happen.
The disc is basically a part of mankind's legacy anymore. People will improve upon it slightly like they did with dvds to bluray, but it will never go away.

Streaming is the only thing that can replace it, but some people prefer quality over ease of access.

>>
>>67816579
The problem with all these things though is that're they're just another digital storage medium, the same as a hard drive. There's no need for it to be a disc unless that's the cheapest way of getting it to you.

Seems like records are here to stay at least though.

>laziness

I really don't know how to say that, but I wish more people watched movies "seriously" or at least in the best possible way. It's a real chance we can watch restored releases of cult films, why aren't more people interested in this stuff?
Whatever. People are more interested in TV series nowadays so movies might even die in my lifetime (except capeshit, this will always find a way to live).

>>
>>67816796
I know what you mean.
Just saying, I highly doubt the disc will ever go away as a video storage system.

>>67816831
As soon as Netflix has some huge scandal that says they've been selling user information or something worse, people will continue to value ease of access over quality.

Why do you think mp3s are so much more popular than flac?

People buy digital music?

I pay for spotify because it's so convenient, I would never buy an album digitally though when I could just get the CD or record.
