It's not in response to BvS, it's in response to Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool. It's also in response to everyone loving the trailer set to Queen. Apparently all the jokes in the movie are in that trailer and the rest is some of the dour shit from BvS.
So Warner panicked when people loved all the comedy in the trailer. Now that BvS is going to shit they're going to panic even more.

They did some SERIOUS rebranding on this. Either they're trying to trick the audience and face serious backlash when the actual movie isn't as comedic and 'fun' as the bohemian rhapsody trailer, or they're frantically re-editing the movie which will result in it being shitter than it would have been if they just left the original cut
