Sex and nudity are pretty much exclusively titillation - I can think of only a handful of movies where on-screen depictions of sex are actually crucial to the story.
Showing a naked woman reinforces the idea that women are sex objects there to be ogled. It's the duty of the film industry to fight against that backwards sort of notion. There's been a lot of progress in the last decade but there's still a long way to go.
