Audience:
>yawn, where's muh quips?

If philosophically deep kinos like The Matrix come out today, people would hate it. Let that sink in
>>
It is actually pretty obvious.
Matrix, Fight Club and movies like these simply wouldn't work today.

It's literally all there anon. Lex was a great villain. He simply didn't trust that an all powerful alien could be good. Lex and Bruce share the same paranoia

This.

That's literally the most basic /reddit/ tier intro-to-atheism quote.
>>
Did Lex know about Bruce?

Like did he know he was going to break into his lab?

How did he even remotely know about his paranoia about Superman?
>>
>>67733561
That's a very dismissive view and likely you are the ignorant generation you allude to. Themes are not ubiquitous. Philosophical discussions are not widely open for public discourse and if any medium regardless of its merits can pull the wider public to discuss such matters than it should be lauded
>>
>>67733512
Luthor was trying to force the world to make sense by showing that superman is either all powerful or good because he hates god because god(superman) was never there to help him.
>>
>>67734155
But couldn't he send that message using quips?

Yeah they are
Let me put this to you, there is a considerable amount of anime that deeper than the matrix

The first quote is retarded. If he's all good then he's all powerful. Otherwise he's benevolent.

It's like they wanted to recreate the "Then whence cometh evil?" quote but didn't quite understand it's full meaning.

No, you apparently just don't realize the second sentence follows from the first. He's saying god can't be both all powerful and good because there's evil in the world.

>>
>>67733157
Movies can't be deep. Deep movies are a meme. Movies are for entertainment, not to find a meaning of self or to question the nature of things around you. Sure you can be involved while watching, but taking those ideas into the real world is dumb and only leads to fake understanding. Movies are made by people, for people, to either show off, or push whatever agenda they tout. Try sitting still and quietly, closing your eyes, and meditating instead of staring mindlessly at a screen for 2+ hours. You'll gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you just by doing this than watching anything on screen created by others.

The only thing that's 'deep' here is your mum's vag.

Lex IS a socially inapt atheist manchild in BvS

I guess that was Snyder's intention. Since Superman is Jesus, Lex is a fedora tipper. Bravo.
>>
>>67733157
But I don't get it, what is Luthor's motivation to hate Superman? HURRRRR

He never dinged anything more like these faggots are at the door dinging
>>
>>67737246
Apparently Eisenberg was brought in to read for Jimmy Olsen (who is the reporter who dies at the start of the movie) and they ended up casting him as Luthor instead. It's amazing that nobody stopped it.
>>
>>67737494
Why would they cast Einsenberg in such a minor role? Only if Jimmy's role was going to be completely different.

Snyder just doesn't know what he's doing.
>>
>>67737154
Why do people insist Lex intentionally summoned Darkseid to Earth? There is nothing to suggest he knew that would happen

Luthor wanted to kill Superman for the same reason Batman explained to Alfred. That nobody could stop Superman if he decided to destroy the world and if there was even a 1% chance he would turn then he had to treat is as an absolute certainty. Except unlike Bruce, Luthor has absolutely no moral concerns.

And what's the oldest lie in America?
That power can be innocent.

Luthor thought it was inevitable that Superman would turn and decided he had to take preemptive action.

but why go all the trouble for two years of shitposting Batman into madness and THEN create Doomsday? an even more poserful less controllable being. Wtf was he thinking?

>>
>>67733793
I can't help but think that is symptomatic of a bigger issue here, it wasn't just those two with issues of trust concerning Superman: the WORLD seems to have it as well. Granted there was the Montage of Superman performing superdeeds but it was done in such a sullen manner, Supes himself barely conveyed a sense of accomplishment or having been of help.

I'm not surprised most people don't get Lex's motivation, it's muddled with the attitude of most everyone else and is closely aligned with Batman. It's not a clear narrative and importance can be lost as a result.
>>
>>67733899
That is never made clear, neither is how he knew of Clark's secret identity. The closest I could come up with was that he had the resources to investigate them both thoroughly and discovered their second lives.

I can accept some "fill in the blanks yourself" to a point (how did BANE? know of Batman's identity?) yet those and several others leave far too many gaps that are too wide.
>>
>>67742713
They are not, though.
He found out about WW, The Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman, those are far more obscure to discover than Batman or Superman.
>>
>>67735863
This. I remember trying to stump christfags with this paradox in the sixth grade. It's childish thinking.
>>
>>67741924
Inception is a fake deep movie that doesnt really have a message or any themes

Its for people who think theyre smart but arent
>>

Huh, I grant you that.

So Darkseid told Lex to kill off superherose and metahumans in preparation for his invasion?
Lex hates godlike power but recognizes a real God like Darkseid
