There's something about early 90's animation that gets me rock hard. I don't know how to describe the distinction between it and today's animation but it's less "shiny". Most of the new stuff looks very shiny and clean even when there's blood on the screen. There's a grainy style to older animation, the colors blend together seamlessly. Or maybe I'm just blinded by nostalgia.

That's just Mitsuo Iso's skill as an animator. 90's anime had that "shiny" look because a good portion of the shows that they put out were really cheap and had to make the lack of almost any animation look at least presentable to viewers.
