I really feel bad for Phillip.
Elizabeth is the one that gets credit for being "so strong, so brave" and being more patriotic, meanwhile she's cheating on him with a super-ghetto black panthers nigger the entire time, and rejecting him as a husband.
Then she's informing on him to the KGB higher up's, questioning his loyalty to the cause, making him look bad.
Then she's saying he's not a "real husband" but just someone she was stuck with, and the show even is self-aware that she's way out of his league in attractiveness.
If I were this dude I'd fucking lose it, but he still endures and remains loyal to their initial cause.
I fucking hate Season 1 Elizabeth honestly. Every episode I just want this dude to leave her dumb ass. Does she ever get better?

The show has some inconsistencies, though, like establishing Philip wants to defect to the US in the early episodes, then dropping it altogether later on, making him completely loyal. And the fact that Mr. Black Panther was made out to be some kind of hero for committing suicide by cop. Also, Keri Russel's character is a cunt.

The interracial thing actually isn't a huge plot point
It takes place in like 1, 2 episodes in season 1, and the black panthers guy actually confronts Phillip and tells him about it, which changes their entire relationship dynamic
It was a interesting thing to add imo
I feel like there is going to be so much blood and tears by the end of this season.
Every character is worn out and crushed under pressure. Philip looks like he's going to split apart in every scene (phenomenal acting). Nina just doesn't give a shit any more. Martha is a dead woman walking and I'm honestly surprised she hasn't killed herself yet.
Thank fuck they didn't make Pastor Tim KGB, would've been a huge cop out.

I've seen this show get praise for the way it treats Russian language and characters - but as a Russian, that's what complete ruined the show for me.
Main actors can't speak language for shit(Amell on Arrow is 100 time better and he's pretty fucking bad ) and every single Russian character is played by a TERRIBLE actor with an obvious "emigrated Jew" accent.
