Rick's group is outnumbered like 4 to 1 and they won't be able to pull off what they did on that outpost, if they try anything like that again there would be immediate retaliation and they'd get steamrolled. Honestly though Rick's crew has fucking Wolverined like forty of Negan's soldiers at this point Metal Gear Solid style and in open combat and the only reason that they can get tied down is because Negan knows where they live (somehow) and they want to keep living there.
If they actually wanted to they could all just leave Alexandria for a new camp out in the woods somewhere far away and just do what they've been doing fucking Negan up one of his little squads at a time. On the show they've already demonstrated that Rick's crew are like some Navy SEALS combatting a bunch of retarded Saudis and the only advantage against them is numbers, which they can completely negate by not engaging in open combat. It's pretty obvious that right now the Saviors are getting jobbed so the audience doesn't see them as much of a threat and doesn't see the brutality of Negan coming. Obviously, since Negan has multiple outposts and bases, it can be assumed that he has many scouts out in the field, monitoring the groups they have under their control and keeping an eye out for rebellious intent. They seem to have killed a lot, but Negan has an army, bigger than any enemy who came before, possibly bigger than all of them combined.
I mean they could try to run, but what happens when a scout reports back whats happening, and then Negan shows up in full force and starts introducing people to Lucille? It's pretty fucking greasy. The best option is obviously to try and insert an assassin to take out Negan and as many of his higher ups as possible and then hope in the chaos those trying to replace him destroy each other.

In the show Rick's already slaughtered something like forty or fifty of them while losing literally ONE of his own people, the fat tumblr dyke.
