I mean, this symbolism isn't deep or anything, why is it treated like a crime to point it out? It's fine to dislike it, but I don't understand why so many are ignoring it. Mark Kermode's review is good, he recognised and discussed the symbolism but said it didn't work. That's a fair negative review, unlike most which criticise it only for being too dark.
