Not OP, but my stance on not watching the second season is that in the pilot and first few episodes of the first season, Jimmy is in actual danger is getting killed.

In the season finale, he's in danger of not getting his groove back.

The whole show is split in two:

1- Boring people talking nonstop. You must be a really sad sack of shit to enjoy watching people talking for a whole hour.
