>tfw Lego batman movie will shit all over the Lego movie and ruin its legacy but will still be better than the trash that is BvS
>>
TDKR takes the number 6 spot
>>
>>67614774
This isn't a best Batman memes list.
TDKR is objectively shit
>>
>>67614621

I wouldn't put DKR after BvS. I also really liked Batman (1989).
>>
>>67614856
>I also really liked Batman (1989).
Who doesn't?
>>
>>67614621
what is it that's so great about Batman Returns? i know the comic fucks hate it because it doesn't adhere to their books but what about film buffs?
>>
TDK
Batman v Superman
Batman
Batman Forever
Batman begins
Batman returns
Batman & Robin
TDKR
>>
>>67614843
It's objectively number 6 in the rankings of all these movies

>Mask of the phantasm
This OP has good taste
>>
>>67614918
Literally all the old as fuck seriel films are more entertaining than TDKR.

I've probably watched TDKR 7 or 8 times and it's fascinating how the movie just has no fucking idea what it wants to to with itself.
>>
>>67614898
It's a less corny and darker (but not edgier) film than Batman 89'.
Some of Burton's finest work.
>>
>>67614621
BvS shit over Nolan's trilogy.
>More brutal Batmobile chase scene ends with
Bats running straight into Supes, instead of pussying out like he did with the Joker
>Better warehouse scene fight doesn't cope out by making it all dark when the fight with the hostages with masks did.
>Drops Lois Lane and Supes saves her. this makes more sense than Bruce surviving a fall from a skyscraper because of his suit when saving Rachel.
>Nods to baneposting.
>Armond White agrees that BvS captures the character's emotional core.
>He fucks supermodels, russian ballerinas, and drinks.

Does MotP contradict the traditional Joker origin story?
>>
>unironically hating on TDKR this much.
Don't care what anyone says, Bane is fucking sick.
>>
>>67615173
What are you even mad about?
OP put TDK first and BB well above BvS
>>
>>67615201
>Don't care what anyone says, Bane is fucking sick.
Hardy puts on an admirably menacing performance, but the character is still ruined by the horribly written script.
>>
>>67615173
>Nods to baneposting.

Elaborate please, this might actually get me to see the movie
>>
I actually agree with your list, OP, but you left out The Dark Knight Returns

1. The Dark Knight
2. Batman Returns
3. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
4. Batman (1989)
5. The Dark Knight Returns: Part 2
6. Batman Begins
7. The Dark Knight Returns: Part 1
8. Batman: The Movie
9. Batman Forever
10. Batman (1943)
11. Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
12. Batman and Robin (1943)
13. Batman: Under the Red Hood
14. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
15. Batman & Robin (1997)
16. The Dark Knight Rises
>>
>>67615079
What? Batman Returns is way cornier with its penguins with rockets strapped to their backs and their little funeral for the Penguin.
>>
>>67615525
Come to think of it. Dark Knight Returns part 2 is literally a better version of BvS
>>
>>67615301
Wouldn't say ruined. With a good script Bane would be on GOAT tier capeshit villain list but he still makes it work with just sheer bad assness. Still miles better than shit like Mr Freeze, cmon
>>
>Batman 89
>good
Let's stop this meme

The Adam west film has literally aged better.
>>
>>67614872
My parents. To be fair, they aren't really fans of Burton's style
>>
>>67614843
>objectively shit
Somebody didn't fly so good!
>>
>>67615765
Personally I like TDKR better than B&R 97', but I can understand reasoning for putting TDKR lower. It really if a fucked up movie that clearly got thrown together just to close out the trilogy and bring it full circle.

Batman and Robin meanwhile is admittedly pretty entertaining, if only because of how silly it is. It also has some impressive set pieces.
>>
>>67614621
I can't believe someone can be this delusional.
>>
>>67615788
Yes please. I watched it for the first time about a year ago. Maybe it was good for its time but it does not hold up in the slightest.
>>
>>67615174
>Does MotP contradict the traditional Joker origin story?
I don't think it contradicts it, just adds to it.

Joker was in the mob as a "soldier"/message deliverer before he became the original Red Hood.
>>
>>67615899
I feel like the main reason for it TDKR being ranked so low is because it's being compared to TDK and Batman Begins. There's no way it's objectively the worst.

He's fucking with you. They're clearly "named" as part of what the public would call them. Or something.

The video file that WW clicks on that shows Flash stop a mugger at a store says "red streak" for obvious reasons.

Keaton is the best Batman, people say he didn't play a good Bruce Wayne, but watching the movie he's never really playing Bruce. He plays him as a severely mentally disturbed individual who is ultimately just as damaged as his villains. It's also a subversion of the typical superhero power fantasy since he's not a character anyone would want to be in real life.

Michelle Pfeiffer, Danny Devito, and Christopher Walken are all perfectly cast. It's also a nice touch that their characters all mirror each other in subtle, clever ways that you really don't see in many superhero movies.

The masquerade scene is brilliant. There's a reason almost every Batman movie since has tried to recreate it.

It perfectly balances the high camp nature of its source material with the movie's darker, less kid-friendly themes.

It has some of Burton's best set design and cinematography, along with one of Elfman's best scores.

GOAT Siouxsie & the Banshees theme song https://youtube.com/watch?v=C2FNByoRGjY

It's legitimately one of my favorite movies of all time and I don't even like capeshit
>>
>>67616748
>Keaton is the best Batman
Ehhhhhh MAYBE.

I'd say him, Kilmore, and Aflek are the trinity
>>
>>67616736
No director would do this intentionally, not even Zack Snyder. That reeks of corporate meddling.
>>
>>67617066
This Lex would.
>>
>>67616748
Agreed, Keaton nailed it for me. After watching this latest batman iteration (after looking forward to it) I gotta say Affleck is just, not a good choice and one of the worst Batmans to date. Anytime I see him in anything I am reminded of this clip.

>2. Batman Returns

I don't get it. Why is this movie revered so much? I mean what does it do that Batman '89 didn't do better?
>>
>>67616748
I like that he is the richest guy in Gotham yet no one even knows what he looks like or even barely knows he is alive. You would think that Knox or Vale would have seen him before at some benefit or something playing pretend but he can't even be bothered to be playboy Wayne here.
>>
>>67617613
>>2. Batman Returns
>I don't get it. Why is this movie revered so much? I mean what does it do that Batman '89 didn't do better?
Batman
Villains
Atmosphere
Musical score
Climax

And while it's admittedly more over the top, it's also less cheesy
>>
>>67617759

That's honestly one of the things I love most about Keaton. He was the only one who played Bruce Wayne as Batman's costumed alter-ego instead of the other way around.
