Every bullet used in this movie has an inner shell made of pure tarntinium (Uf), which is highly volatile and explosive when exposed to oxygen, while the the outer shell is made of a composite alloy, 75%ununonium, 25% frartium, which is one of the fastest fracturing alloys there are.

The guns in Django are all obviously super old muzzleloaders. Even the revolvers had to be loaded with powder and ball from the front of the cylinder in each chamber, and each chamber primed (note they never showed anybody reloading: before metallic cartridges became popular, 1860's-ish, a revolver literally took several minutes to reload).
They also all used blackpowder, an older, obsolete form of gunpowder that produces tons of smoke and generates much less pressure. Shots from guns then were generally much slower, and would not penetrate through a person that easily
