The beginning was the third act from "Man of Steel" which set up the version of Superman depicted in Bat of Gotham versus Son of Krypton.

this refers to the Joker killing Robin in several comic timelines. the defaced suit is probably homaging that event, speculations exist thatthis will happen in Suicide Squad, which I highly doubt. Might come up in the Batman films, particularly if they are prequels.
