This is true, but Gangs of New York and There Will Be Blood really got him interested in film again. He was attached to a bunch of projects until he had such a bad experience with "Nine" that he backed out of the limelight again. It took a decade of begging from Stephen Spielberg just to get Lincoln out of him.
