The producers of the show attempt to get them to stay, as the show has huge ratings in real life, but the actors still try to break out. Eventually things turn violent and dark.

Pilot opens with like a 15-minute long scene done in first-person through the eyes of a burglar breaking and entering a house and shit goes wrong and he ends up killing the inhabitants of the house on accident during a minor altercation, like trying to run around the person and head through the door. Complete with a shot 'looking over the shoulder' and seeing the dude knocked out and uncertain if he's dead or not
20 minutes of regular camera work going through this person's day, but you never have any clues who the burglar is because you never saw his face in the opening scene
Final scene is done through the pov of the victim and the whole name of the show is trying to identify who the burglar was
