I remember I was critical of teen movies at the time because I thought they were just campy revivals of tired 80's formulas (which they kind of where), but looking back, it's nice to have a campy time capsule of my high school years, eve if it's not all that representative of real life. It's kind of sad that the genre would be hard to apply to today now that I think about it.
