8/10 film from anyone who likes art house pieces.
the way they used a different camera for every time period made it look fabulous starting with an old grainy camera for the 70's shots.

symbolically we grow with Jobs as we watch him age

what utter complete PG-13 trash! Why such a good director would decide to make a shitty crap looking CGI film

If this movie was R Rated and showed humans eating humans then it would have been better.
>>
>>67272875
Why the fuck would anyone want to?

Movies like this (of which there have been two for some fucking reason) and The Social Network are so fucking stupid it hurts.
>>
>>67272945
Social Network was a 9/10 for me. highly enjoyable idk what your problem is.
>>
>>67272851
If I had to watch one, which is less shit? This or the Ashton Kutcher one?
>>
>>67272976
Because Facebook and its origins is not an interesting story. Zuckerberg is not an interesting man. The same goes for Steve Jobs.

A full running time movie, two at that for Jobs, is an absolute joke.
>>
>>67272825

7/10 at worst. Try Age Of Ultron, that's probably more your speed.
>>
>>67273018
But that's like, your opinion man.

And it's fucking wrong, stay mad
>>
>>67273023
This. I bet Age of Ultron is more your thing OP.
>>
Im with u op no explosions whatever
>>
>>67273169
imagine if the mac blew up in his face, he had a punching fight with people. microsoft bursted into his conference with military men as they began shooting at him as Jobs reaches for a hand gun under his desk and kills them all. would OP like it then?

Sorkin has a lot of flaws but I'll never get tired of his idealism and "things matter!" ethos. I see a lot of hate for him on /tv/ because of his politics (soapbox, leftist) and dialogues (recycled, unnatural, walk and talk formula), but I never see anyone attacking his amazing work on narrative structure, plot development, character psychology... his ability to introduce small elements or use of parables which can reveal themselves to carry great emotional and thematic meaning in clever and subtle ways... his sophisticated sense of humor and lack of vulgarity and cynicism... his masterful understanding of power struggles, legal aspects, inner workings of major institutions... If only there were more writers like him, able to make a simple conversation feel like an apocalyptic setpiece, or simply more writers with genuine human warmth and moral weight who can make me care about characters as deeply as I do with his.

>let's cast the most handsome man in the world as steve jobs

At least kutcher bore some resemblance
>>
>>67272985
I wouldn't recommend none of them, but for some reason I prefer the one with Kutcher.

They got scared of it making piss money and essentially shut it down. If it was released late in the season it would have been a much stronger presence.

are you actually serious?

and while I can appreciate things like that, it doesn't make up for the 3 act play not working at all, especially since it tries to string things together using unbearable dialogue

movie was 9/10

The Social Network is legitimately a 10/10 though, and Steve Jobs was a great film.

The Social Network is the defining film of this generation.
And this is coming from a guy who's never and will never use facebook.
>>
>>67272825
Seriously though, has brand loyality come so far that you can make a movie about the CEO of a company and people watch that shit? I really can't wait for the apocalypse any longer.
>>
>>67276534
This, The Social Network is the best film of the 21st Century.
>>
>>67272825
this movie was fun. if you walked out of this movie thinking it was glorifying jobs you are objectively wrong
>>
>>67276534
I really liked the social network, but I wouldnt go as far as calling it the defining film of this generation
>>
>>67276729
The problem is that it was dealing with Steve Jobs in the first place. Literally someone so uninteresting and irrelevant to the world that thinking about watching a movie about him is a waste of time already.
>>
>>67276762
you don't think it's interesting that someone so narcissistic and deplorable can thrive in todays society?
>>
>>67276762

>Irrelevant

This has to be sarcasm right? Like, he might have been a piece of shit but he was one of the most important people in the rise of personal computers.

He was a one trick pony, put the most powerful hardware available, in an stylish packet, make it all propietary and sell it for a ridiculous amount of money. He did that for 25 years, until he finally stroke gold with the posh brainless millenial generation.

Fincher saved it by pacing the scenes differently. It's the only sorkin thing I can watch without projectile vomiting all over the screen
