The saving grace is that Sunny is still somewhat obscure to normies. It's no where near the size that Seinfeld was, so I think Glenn could still become a more mainstream actor. Charlie Day has gotten other work.
The only reason its maintained some level of popularity is Netflix and the syndication deal on Comedy Central. I've heard interviews with Charlie and Rob where they talk about the fact that they've been close to cancellation many times but they keep on getting little nuggets of new viewers that keep them on the air. Realistically, Sunny would probably be better off on something like Netflix.
