In all seriousness, how does one find good works of entertainment. Not forgettable, disposable trash.

Name a 'top' ranking site that isn't shit.
Trust the uncultured swines of 4chan?

To be fair, probably 8 out of the last 10 films I watched I got from a 'what movie should i watch 4chan?' thread.

It's difficult sometimes to find something I haven't already seen.

Jesus bumping Christ. Why isn't this thread taking off(?)
>>

because its a shitty thread
>>
>>67183813
It can be made good you know. It's constantly developing. If first six comments were shit, it would only mean 2% of the thread would be shit if it made it to 300 responses.

some anons watch that many movies every week and have been doing so for years.
>>
Read actual film criticism. Binge on director's filmographies and listen to the commentaries to find their inspirations and watch them, then repeat.
>>
>>67184072
Oftentimes filmmaker's inspiration won't be any good. It just provided them the urge to produce their film. But the inspiration isn't necessarily always good. What film critic knows their shit, you tell me? All I know are lame-ass popcorn critics.
>>
Start with the decennial Sight & Sound polls. What happened those films and then move on to other films made by those who directed films on the list.

Watch TCM.

Keep up with new releases by regularly checking review aggregators like Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes. Watch those films that are both well reviewed and seem interesting to you.

If you see a films you enjoy, watch other films by the same director.

>>67184561
That should be 'watch those' not 'what happened'.
>>
>>67183067
My current 'to watch' list has between 500 and 600 films on it. Film appreciation can be a life-long endevour.
>>
>>67184653
There's probably a lot of crap within that list.
Mine is about 50 films in length.

>implying all movie critics arent dumb hacks who cant find a real job, so they decide that watching tv is actually a career path
why would anyone read anything those assholes have to say?

I watch movies based on actors and directors more than anything
I'm running out of critically acclaimed movies so more than half the stuff I watch is shit
>>
