I read an articleon AVClubabout how most IMDB voters are men in their twenties. That's why the first 20 entries on the top 250 have male-only protagonists.
I mostly use the imdb score as a rough "is that shit even watchable" scale
7.x is mostly great
8.x is either great are pretentious bullshit
6.x is ok, the stuff you watch when nothing else is on, like some action flicks or something
5.x is already pressing it, but they are some rather good movies there
everything below 5 is garbage
just don't take it too seriously, like everything on the internet

Better than expected. I just wanted to see how a random movie I like that definitely has faults and didn't really become popular with normies would score. Neat.
Of course recent movies will get the higher rating, they are more in the public eye and there's more hype for them and they want to be part of a fandom.
People will think Deadpool is pure Kino now but realize it's a 6/10 later in life and then the rating will go down.

well "normal" people do not have a more critical eye when reviewing something than "seasoned" people.
obvious the people who will see mad max will go "I LIKE IT CARS SHOOT BOOM" and give it a 10, while people who watched eyes wide shut obviously are a bit more critical (i assume people who watch brickshit are a little bit smarter than the guys who watch capeshit, i mean, man) and will count both the defects and pros and give it an 8.
