Are there any other painful to watch comedies like Peep Show?

Peep show will never be topped
>>
Withnail & I. It's about two unsocial flatmates in London, it's sparse on the plot, and mostly focuses on awkward situations for comedic effect. It has point-of-view shots accompanied by internal monologue.

A complete rip-off of Peep Show, but it's pretty good.

As said, Inbetweeners, Curb, also The Alan Partridge series'.

>How Not to Live Your Life

This is one of those shows I wanted to like, but it just wasn't very good. I know one guy was the lead/writer/director/etc., but he could have used a co-writer or something.

Maybe try Nathan Barley, OP?
>>
>>67155909
Have you seen Creep Show?
>>
Bottom is about the two characters misery and fucking up things but it's a typical sitcom format and I know that's not everyone's thing.

Nathan for you

is this good?

Before "Ricky Gervais" became a dirty term, I remember constantly hearing how good it was.

Also how is Extras?

Massively underrated show.

>Good job you landed on your thumbs, got no bones in them.

And who didn't want a wasp phone?
>>
>>67157624
Mike was such a great idea for a character but so poorly executed.
>>
>>67157692
He was originally going to be played by someone else who was friends with the original gang or something.

I thought all his lines were hilarious and the actor delivered them well enough. It's the resulting silence from the studio audience that always make it awkward.
>>
Jam
Count Arthur Strong
Stewart Lee's Comedy vehicle
Todd Margaret

Literally painful.
>>
>>67157652
Comparing it to the US Office it portrays the documentary aspect a fuck ton better. Gareth is the best character.

I'd say Extras is better. The celebrity cameos parodying themselves is top notch.

>>67157624
Also check out Bad News. Essentially a British Spinal Tap with Ade, Rik, and Nigel.
>>
>>67157652
The Office UK is great. Gervais is really fucking good at playing an unlikable twat.
The Hobbit is in it too, and he spends his days bullying the resident autist.
There are no likable characters to be found, but that's the beauty of it.
>>
>>67157721
i don't think they got his M.O across accurately. everyone has come across a mike at uni, but i didn't find him relatable at all.

he had some good lines, but was definitely the weakest character.
>>
>>67156328
It's waaaaay less painful to watch. There were actual moment during peep-show when I had to take a moment to pause because I was overloading on secondhand embarassment.
>>
>>67157624
punks are just 100% cringe
>>
>>67155909
If you know beforehand that the premise is cringe humor how is it hard to watch? Isn't that like going to a horror film not expecting a dumb jumpscare?
>>
>>67157932
I don't get why though. He looks the part, he sounds the part, the lines are great.

Even the fact that he's short really works.

TV licensing clip for /tv/:

His witty/seedy one-liners are GOAT. Maybe he just doesn't have the outlandishness of the other actors or something?
>>
The Eric Andre Show. Juvenile nonsensical shit for retards.
>>
>>67158064
Because "situations" =/= jumpscares.
>>
>>67155909
The King of Comedy is top cringe. In a funny way.
>>
>>67157758
This, watch it OP.

and their other shows too.
>Extras (great)
>Life's too short (not as good but still allright)
>Hello Ladies show + movie (stephen merchant only, very cringy)

don't watch Derreck though.
>>
>>67157652
Extras is worth it just for the celeb cameos.

The only bad part is the female friend opposite Ricky. She's annoying.

>>
>>67157652
There is more painful awkwardness in 3 episodes of the The Office UK and there is in 10 years of The Office USA.
>>
>>67157652
The Office is way, way, way better than Extras

>>67157756
I've never watched the US Office, but
>it portrays the documentary aspect a fuck ton better
That is literally the whole point of the show, so if the US Office lost that part (which I wouldn't be at all surprised at, it being American) then it's lost the whole purpose and soul of the show

The Office (original) is definitely a great response to OP's question because it literally is excruciatingly cringe worthy. I can barely watch it to be honest because there's just too much cringe. But that's what makes it so great. And hilarious.
>>
>>67155909
Trailer park boys to much less extend
>>
>>67157756
Oh, and if you think that Extras is even in the same ballpark as The Office then you're a moron. Extras is shit.
>>
>>67157266
Also the Danish show Klovn
>>
>>67159407
This. Not even a danefag but it's a great show. They recently did a remake of it in my country, acting like they came up with everything themselves.

Friday Night Dinner.

painfully good

Man seeking Woman, but in more a self loathing way instead of a relatably cringy way. Also it's weird as fuck.
