The Getaway is a really damn good pre-80's action film. Doesn't have the artistic ambitions of Straw Dogs or the Wild Bunch, but it's worthy entertainment.

Peckinpah is so up and down this doesn't really work for him. Osterman weekend and killer elite are garbage, and even if at his peak he would throw in trash like Convoy or Junior Bonner. He is one director it's best to cherry pick
