The remake if I'm being honest. Tarkovsky's original is poorly paced and feels less coherent. People only pretend to like Tarkovsky's version more because they think it makes them sophisticated.

If you read the book, which I doubt any of you did, you would realize that Tarkowsky is an absolute hack.
I was actually offended by the 5 minute long driving scene. But I loved reading peoples analysis of the film saying it was the most beautiful scene. What?! Is your commute beautiful because that's basically the same thing

Do the Solaris movies even explain how they are essentially living in a station on a planet, Solaris, that is alive? The alien synthesizes people based on the crew's memories.

Seriously the only good thing about the remake was the soundtrack.
I think Soderbergh's version works better as a film. The central relationship is far better rounded and realised than in the original version, plus it's immensely more watchable. I may be in the minority here but I find the original Solaris to be one of Tarkovsky's lesser films, perhaps even his weakest film.
