Well this reasoning works with the eyes, which in my opinion isn't the problem, but more about how cartoony and flashy is costume looks. But then again this was just the trailer so maybe it'll look better in the actual movie. I personally find the new spidey to be ok, but Tobey's version was the best in hindsight.
