This thread is for laid back discussion about cinema.
Feel free to ask questions, recommend good films etc.
Is this the blacked thread?
What does /cine/ think of Malick?
I watched La Haine last night. My heart was racing by the end scene, I couldn't much more violent and with a pointed political theme instead of mindless self-destruction.
Anyone want to recommend more films (cine kino whatever) like it?

Sorry, patricians only please. That means explaining yourself, and staying generally meme free. Both of those require actual thought, sorry.

The fat old Assyrian has about the same amount of talent as the amount of narrative in his films

I truly enjoyed The Thin Red Line and Tree of Life. The rest I respect, but don't like all that much
What does /cine/ think of Reygadas?

Only Badlands is good
Whats the general consensus on yorgos lanthimos

Good, inventive, but for some reason his films don't exactly hold up on a rewatch
I feel like the better alternative is to branch out and have everyone make a thread rather than consolidate into one. patrician shitposts > pleb shitposts

I really like his earlier movies, Badlands especially, but I can't help but feel that he's getting stale and repetitive with his latest work. In Knight of Cups he repeats himself to the point that the movie comes across as self-parody more than anything.

This to be perfectly honest.
