Spiderman 1 and 2 worked because everything was connected. Peter to Norman to Harry to Octavius. The family and MJ stories were very well done, and showed the best amount of emotion without making it something it wasn't

The pacing in 3 was so bad. Sandman was boring, Harry having amnesia was bad, and should of just been him pulling strings while reconnecting with Peter and MJ till the end. Venom should have been Spiderman 4

Apparently Raimi was pressured into including more antagonists than he wanted which led to a whole lot of the shit show.
Doesn't explain why the ending is so lackluster though. The trilogy is overall so much fucking fun and then it ends on this really "bleh" note.

The thing is, is that he wanted Sandman, and was forced Venom. Sandman wasn't primary antagonist material, so if he wasn't there, it might have made more room for everything else. Also, the villian aren't the biggest problem, everything just kinda felt off in 3, as if there was no passion

Just binged watched all three movies and finished it off with 2003 Hulk for the 2000s capeshit nostalgia.
And let me tell you, Spiderman trilogy and Hulk 2003 are literal God tier capeshit. MCU is literal turd compared to the those 4 marvel movies. I would say its God tier but its no where near the best capeshit film ever made. There were still tons of mistakes and goofy cringy shit but less cringy than MCU shit tho.
