How come Jean-Claude never had a proper career?
Most of his films were huge flops at the box office, but he is clearly charismatic and had the drive to succeed. Worse actors than him had bigger careers.

Fact: JCVD has a better filmography than any other 80s martial artist: Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Timecop, Universal Soldier, JCVD and Hard Target are legit good while Street Fighter, Double Impact, Lionheart, Double Team and Black Eagle are goofy fun

He's my favorite action hero. I've seen most of his movies and to be honest, most of them aren't very good. I mean JCVD is always good himself, but the movies are usually kinda shit.

Actually not entirely true
All of his movies up to street fighter were pretty successful action movies, a few like timecop broke 100 mil worldwide. After street fighter but before direct to DVD his movies flopped in America but did well overseas

Even though they are kinda mental in terms of cinematography most of his Albert pyun films are great. Dude was Akira Kurwasara's apprentice for a while. Cyborg (1) is a particular fave
