I started watching Fringe some years ago, bu stopped. Should i go back into watching this show, or show I delete it entirely?
>>

I don't know for which question you said "yes"
>>
No, it's not worth it. I made it to season 5, and stopped half way through because of how bad it got. Don't care enough to watch the last few episodes.

It got more confusing now...

Why?

Why it got bad?
>>
>>66842439
Well the first major fuck up was in season 4, which was a new timeline where everyone but Peter forgot everything that happened prior to it, which basically reconnected the events of 1 to 3 and all character development.

Then season 5 was is a shitty YA dystopian novel 20 years into the future with terrible writing.

Not even based Walter could save the show after season 3.

Why do you think season 4 was bad? I watched it and haven't find any problems...
>>
>>66842706
Retconning everything before it was enough. The fact that Olivia is basically somebody else but gets eventually somehow transformed into season 1-3 Olivia is weird as fuck too.

What the fuck were they thinking.
>>
>>66842350
it started out x-files but degenerated into silliness, like they were making shit up as they went and hoped that it worked out in the end. it didnt.

>Retconning
???

>YA dystopian novel
YA??

young adult?
>>
>>66842548
>implying

It retconned shit in a good way. Peter being alive created a large butterfly effect, we now saw more or less another 'original" timeline. Plus we learn what ZFT was really up to and it was obvious in Season 1 that they were less than what they could possibly be what with no support from Bell anymore, that and and Jones going to the other universe to see Bell had to be more than just to fight the other side

>>66842041
Yes it's worth it. The weakest link was season 4 but it gets back on track towards the end. And Season 5 serves as a great ending despite its obvious budget cuts.

For a show that was on the edge of being cancelled season after season, I'm surprised it got to end at all (and a proper ending at that).

I have not watched X-Files.

>>66842993
I don't know the difference between "Young Adult Dystopian Novel" and "Adult Dystopian Novel".
>>
>>66843509
It's usually based on the competency of the prose. While you could argue something like Brave New World or 1984 is accessible to YAs, they're still not really targeted towards them like some modern YA dystopian novels are like Hunger Games.

???

Can you talk me more about this?
>>
>>66843641
Well technically speaking much of what happened in seasons 1, 2 and 3 didn't happen due to Peter no longer existing as a result of the Observer's doing stuff at the end of Season 3
>>
>>66843752
I don't know what "retconned" is, I'm asking for an explanation.
>>
>>66843752
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

DELETE THIS POST AND THIS MEMORY FROM MY MIND
>>
>>66843833
Retroactive continuity, retcon for short, is an alteration of previously established facts in the continuity of a fictional work
>>
>>66844013
Thanks for the explanation.
>>
>>66842041
I watched about 10 episodes, I probably won't go back. There are better ways to waste your time than watching Fringe.
