I think if the scene has to hit all the retarded points that got it into the movie in the first place, it is beyond saving
If I am allowed to change the plot, Han Solo never lost the falcon because that is stupid, they escaped Iraq on a quad jumpah instead of a ship that wasn't supposed to be working, and came to Han Solo because they were out of fuel, and there was no kanja club.
