Are VHS tapes completely useless today? For what could I use them? I have more than 100 here.

I had some old 22inch CRT tv that had a built in VHS player but, my brother took it for his apartment and really getting a VHS player for all the non-existant VHS tapes I have is not a top priority
i used to reccord shit on tv on vhs, i'd like to see if i have anything worthwhile in them.

I'm gonna try to do that for this gem that I just bought. It doesn't have a DVD release and it's not on any torrent sites.
I wish I still had mine due to nostalgia.
