These things exist for people to showcase their skills in choreography and special effects. Nobody expects a story from them, especially when it's only 15 minutes long.

This is why people have showreels. It shows you can do a range of films. All this short film shows is that someone can direct actors to do sword fights and use After Effects. They did a good job, but I could hire a choreographer or a special effects team.
I would never hire "writer, producer, director & editor" Shawn Bu. Action director, Action designer and choreographer Vi-Dan Tran maybe, same goes for costume designer, special make-up artist and stunt coordinator Defcon Unlimited.
