Too many autists don't get the serial feel of these movies. They think there should have been an entire movie explaining Finn's leaving the First Order, an entire movie setting up Kylo's fall.
Those things don't really matter because those are the starting point for those characters. The Anakin and Obi-Wan thing leaves out details of their friendship as the trilogy goes on, there's an on going relationship that's off screen.
It's like saying you need an entire movie setting up Vader's fall or Leia's decision to join the rebellion even though she's officially an Imperial diplomat. Those are just the background details you need to set up the story you're going to be told moving forward.
