I think a lot of stuff would confuse me. Why is this old smuggler considered a legend and how did he manage to fuck an apparent former princess? Why is this Luke Skywalker such a big deal? Why does the bad guy look up to his grandfather but have beef with his dad?
The way the 'force' is used in this film would probably lead me to think it's just another one off garbage magical Disney flick If I read the synopsis without any prior knowledge of Star Wars I don't think I would even watch it.

For one, people wouldn't complain so much about Rey being a Mary Sue. We would just assume being strong with the Force meant that you were good at pretty much everything and the odds were stacked in your favor all the time.
nope, it doesn't do any of the same world building and all of the characters suck ass. han, luke, ben, and lea are all GOAT in ANH. poe is barely in it, rey has no personality, and finn's character doesn't match his own backstory. characterization in TFA sucked cock.

I meant like in terms of special effects and production value. Because that would blow peoples minds. Even if the story did leave a lot unexplained...and I guess if you made this the first SW in the series then ANH and the rest would become the prequels so maybe we wouldn't even have prequel trilogy to complain about.
