So I finally watched Alien last year and just finished Aliens for the first time, and I'm confused.
People actually like Aliens and say it's as good/better than Alien and the point where the series died?
Alien was 1000x better than this boring overlong shooting gallery. I don't get how this is accepted.

T1/alien had better story/more of a horror vibe
T2/aliens is more of an action/adventure
Alien has remained timeless and creepy while Aliens has become incredibly dated and didn't really have much to offer in the realm of the lore behind the original film. Sure it was a good action movie but besides that it didn't excel on any other fronts.

Some people prefer alien, some people prefer aliens. Both are great movies, so I think it comes down to personal preference
