try providing an actual discussion topic rather than just saying, what do you think?

It's an excellent film, but as far as the adaptations of Thomas Harris's novels go, it's no Manhunter. That one's near-perfect.

really nice for a Hollywood movie

Foster and Hopkins are perfect for the role. Good acting.

probably one of the best ""feminist"" films with an actual strong female character earning her place in a mans world, but everyone just sees it as that cannibal movie

Every character in the movie is well played and interesting. It's hard to watch Anthony Hopkins in other stuff without thinking of his performance. He's just too good.

Manhunter really is the perfect film. When he finally figures out who Francis is and where he works, that whole moment is great.

Anthony Hopkins acting was brilliant although Clarie's was annoying and her accent was unbearable.

I felt like the ending was a bit illogical as I'm baffled as to how Buffalo Bill didn't just shoot Clarice when she was standing right in front of her and he could've easily done it. However, of course Clarice ends up getting the first shot and killing her.

Overall I liked the film and I thought the acting was great and the ambiance was perfect for a thriller film as it largely had a unsettling, suspenseful, and even creepy vibe throughout which is necessary for a Thriller film.

I didn't dislike Red Dragon but Petersen's Will Graham felt much more natural to me.

I just piggybacked the two movies about a month ago so the one scene that best illustrates what I mean would probably be the one in both where the Graham character is in the woods behind one of the murder scenes and finds clues. Petersen gives these almost imperceptible moments of repose where you can almost see the cogs in his head turning whereas Norton's Graham seems to have this almost supernatural ability to find and decipher the clues as they appear.

The scene itself is very similar in both but credit to Petersen or Mann the Manhunter version struck me as more thoughtful.
