Yeah a lot of people don't like the last couple seasons. Duchovny leaves, I forget exactly when.
1-5 are pretty solidly awesome, though. Most shoes don't hang in there that long.

I'm trying to re-watch everything in time, and am in the 7th season.
Scully just pulled an Arya, but one of them gets totally fucked up almost every episode and is just fine in the next.
Does that mean we're going to get both a new X-Files and go back to an Arya that can see and do interesting things?

I believe the Myth arc ends in season 5. There is a movie between seasons 4 and 5 that you need to watch too. Season 7 is probably the last decent season. A lot of people didnt like 8 and 9. Personally i liked them both. Their are a few MoTW episodes that are on par with season 1-5 IMO. The myth arc lacks though
