I think it has to be unintentional. That line was 3 movies deep into George's madness. Nobody had been correcting him and everybody was a yes-man by that point. The only way that scene makes sense is if obi wan meant high ground as in strategically better position, since anakin had to jump and land on obi wans ledge while defending himself.
