What did we think of this anyway?
I recently rewatched it, only for the 2nd time, and I appreciate it way more than I did before actually. It is so fucking comfy, but still has great action sequences.
Setting this in Japan was the X-Men movie I always wanted but never got.

It's not awful, but it's not great either. And the final battle is pretty boring. And the whole villain's goal and the loss of Logan's power makes no sense.
I watched it; I didn't hate it; but I'm never seeing it again.

Most pointless X-men movie of them all. You can completely remove it and still have no impact in the meta story whatsoever.

I'm not a weeaboo but I still like the Japanese sets they used. it brought some reality and beauty into the whole movie which many other comicbook movies don't have

holy fucking shit, I always thought retards like this didn't exist on this board. how is a movie like that bad? look at phase 2 of the MCU, it's a fucking mess just because there are cross references all over the place. winter soldier was great because it didn't mention all the other movies all the time but kept to itself
