Just marathoned ep 1-4. Pretty fucking sweet if you don't think too hard about the lack of certain technology that you'd think they could have in the 23rd century, like telepathy and killbots and clinical immortality, and that fashion ceased to progress for centuries.

biology is really complex. The human brain is one of the most complex things known to man. Space stuff, like getting around to other planets, is relatively simple by comparison, the trick is just doing so in a cost efficient way.

Considering the current rate of technology, The Expanse is relatively realistic.

If you like semi realistic sci-fi, cyberpunk themes, and interplanetary politics, it's worth watching at least the first episode.
It's really good compared to the books imo.
I expected much worse when I heard it was on Syfy, especially when I knew it was based on a series of space opera novels. It looks noticeably cheap in parts but I like the established universe enough that I will keep watching.

I never really know what to make of their "bridge" or "command deck" whatever it is. It just seems really goofy to me that the captain of this ship just stands on this little raised platform with these dinky terminals. It looks really barebones, not to mention where the captain's supposed to sit during high-G maneuvers or any kind of impact on the ship
