Jackie's big films often show him getting beaten up, winning fights via luck and other things that, while they help you care about the character, don't exactly make you think "this guy is a fucking bad-ass".
You're meant to feel sorry for Jackie's characters, whereas Bruce's characters were a lot more one dimensional (at least outside of Way of the Dragon).
