DC has a stronger stable of A-list and B-list heroes, not to mention way better villains and storylines.
By all accounts they should have been running roughshod over Marvel a decade ago so it's disappointing that this whole thing has been so horrifyingly mismanaged from the top-down. I've got nothing against the individual elements, go nuts with young new age CEO Lex, a Superman that's a polarizing public figure instead of a universally loved hero like his mainstream portrayal, who gets involved in darker storylines, it's not like that's alien to Superman, there's nothing objectionable about that, but it's crippled by some insecurities to be seen as something other than an also-ran in the superhero department, and everything just sort of clashes when it makes it to the final product.
